St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is
in a joint parish relationship with St. John’s Lutheran Church (rural
Aberdeen). While being two separate entities, the two congregations
share pastoral and secretarial staff. The mission of St.
Paul’s congregation is twofold: (1) To carry out our Lord’s Great
Commission given in Matthew 28:19-20. This is done as the
members of St. Paul’s seize opportunities to witness their faith to others
by their words and conduct in their daily lives. (2) To
provide opportunities for members of St. Paul’s and visitors to grow
spiritually in their relationship with Jesus Christ. This is
done through opportunities to participate in worship services, Bible
studies, outreach visits, service projects, and fellowship events.
We Share the Word
As individual members of the
Body of Christ we grow in Christ by sharing His saving love and sharing in
missions.
We Worship
We make the Word of God come
alive in our worship life through the traditional liturgy as it promotes
the awareness of God’s presence and His forgiveness and through the
traditional Christian hymns.
We Educate
We shape Christian people in
relationships and responses by assisting their growth in the Word with
structured and disciplined learning opportunities for people of all ages
through midweek and confirmation, Bible study, home devotions, and
ministry to families.
We are Stewards
We see ourselves as
Christians with God given abilities and strengths who respond to God’s
love in Jesus Christ with our time, talents, and treasures through
biblical stewardship and providing prayer support for one another.
